The Story of Ye Gong Hao Long was from Chun Qiu Dynasty of about 2700 - 2500 years ago. There lived a man named Ye Gong who had a peculiar fascination with loongs. He often tells people that he likes the loong the most. He carved a pair of large loongs on the stone pillars of his house. He put a pair of big loongs on the roof, face to face playing with a ball. There are loongs everywhere in his garden and even steps are all decorated with "loong" graphics. In addition, all of his furniture in the house, tableware and bedding are related to loongs. Ye Gong likes loong so much, he draws and writes loong whenever he has free time. He names his children with loongs, e.g. his sons were named with loong and his daughter was named "Loong Girl".

Everybody knows he loves so much of loong and the real loong in the heaven was very moved and decided to come down to earth to see him and give him some favors. One day, when Ye Gong was taking a nap, a sudden storm and lightning and thunder woke him up. Unexpectedly, he saw the real loong poked its head in from the window and was immediately frightened out of his wits. Then he turned around and fled into the main room, he saw a huge loong tail lying in front of him. He got nowhere to escape, but collapsed to the ground and lost his conscious. The real loong looked at Ye Gong, felt puzzled and then flaw back to heaven in despair.

The idiom Ye Gong Hao Long, satirizes the people like Ye Gong who are duplicity and not worthy of their name and appearance.
